Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Dec 20
The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, harvested later than the Mazoyères-Chambertin from the domaine, on September 23, is matured with 50% new oak and 100% destemmed. It has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet of rose-petal-infused red berry fruit and a light savory element that is translated across onto the palate, which offers silky-smooth tannins, plenty of black cherry and cassis fruit and a dusting of charcoal on the aftertaste. This should age well over the next 20 years.
